Title: Conditions of Learning Assignment

1
Conditions of Learning Assignment
  • Task 1 The Learning TaskThe student will learn
the rules of manipulating algebraic equations to
    solve a basic algebraic equation.
  • Task 2 Learned Capability Type Intellectual
    Skill
  • Performance Demonstrate the application of the
rule Whatever you do to the left side of the
equation you must also do to the right side of
    the equation (or vice versa).
  • Task 3 Type of learning Cognitive
  • In this case, external conditions describe the
context wherein the learning occurs. It isnt
enough to simply state the rule (internal
    conditions). The student must successfully
demonstrate the application of the rule by
    solving certain presented problems (external
    conditions).
  • Task 4 The type of learning outcome expected is
that of an Intellectual Skill. The essential
    prerequisites are simpler intellectual skills
    like addition, subtraction, multiplication and
    division. Supporting prerequisites would be
certain Cognitive Strategies (like the ability to
recognize the operation in a brand new equation
and then be able to select the opposing
operation) or Attitudes (like the desire to even
think through the basic steps to complete the
    problem).
  • Task 5 Step 7 Providing feedback about
performance and correctness. This is imperative
because although the students may see the example
in an earlier step and may attempt the task
themselves, they will not gain the confidence or
the assuredness that the steps they took were
right unless there is feedback immediately after
their attempt. If they err in their attempt,
remediation can take place and the student can
retry another example in an attempt to obtain a
    correct response.
