Jesus mission is what gives meaning to His
birth! To fully and accurately appreciate His
birth, we need to have a good understanding of
His purpose on earth.

Why Did My Savior Come to Earth?

• He came so He could die for all of our sins
• Mary certainly faced both excitement fear in
  the reality of Jesus mission on earth (Luke
  229-35)
• Pleasurable He is the Son of God, He would
  save the world from their sins, He is God with
  us, His is the Messiah
• Difficult Isaiah 53 describes Him as a
  suffering servant and Simeon spoke of a sword
  piercing her soul also
• Lamb slain from the foundation of the world (Rev
  138)
• Jesus was born so He could die He came knowing
  He would suffer die on the cross! (John
  1232-33)
• He came to seek and save the lost (Luke 199-10)
• He saved others, Himself He cannot save! HOW
  TRUE!
• Paul understood applied this personally (1 Tim
  115)
• The more we appreciate understand what Jesus
  did in coming to this world, the more well want
  to avoid sin!

Why Did My Savior Come to Earth?

• He came so He could serve, not be served
• Human logic would not choose for the King of
  Kings to come live the life of a servant
  (Esther 13-7)
• From the start of Jesus ministry through today,
  everything He has done is for others
• Jesus emphasized His role as a servant in
  teaching His disciples about humility (Matthew
  2028)
• He was humble, obedient, serving (Phil 23-8)
• In coming and living our life, Jesus emptied
  Himself of Himself and took on form of a
  serving Truly putting others first!
• The more we grow in the knowledge and likeness
  of Christ the more we ought to feel motivated to
  serve others
• Will this mean making sacrifices? Certainly!
  But Jesus made sacrifices from the time He came
  through His death!

Why Did My Savior Come to Earth?

• He came so He could live our life, thus
  qualifying as our compassionate faithful high
  priest
• The choice of a physical birth as a man is a
  choice of a full identity with us (Matt
  121-23)
• Jesus experienced everything we experience as
  part of our daily life in an imperfect world
  (Heb 214)
• He battled temptation in every way we do, yet He
  resisted, remaining sinless (Heb 415 Lk
  413)
• Since He lived our life, He is both our
  compassionate and our faithful high priest (Heb
  217-18)
• He is compassionate because He has experienced
  our life and pleads for us knowing what we are
  facing here.
• He is faithful He faced every test we do
  passed them all!
• Thus Jesus has left us a perfect example
  standard as well as being a source of strength
  confidence for us in our life.

  He came because He loved me so!
• John 1246 He came to be the light of the
  world
• John 1837 He came to testify to the truth
• Heb 107-9 Matt 517 He came to fulfill the
  law, to nail it to the cross, to usher in the
  New Covenant
• John 1010 He came to give life give it
  abundantly
• Luke 1249 He came not to bring peace but a
  sword
