Compareing maps

• When I am looking at the map in the book I see
  most of were lava ash fell over the land. but
  if I look at the atlas all I see is what it looks
  like today not the past. If I see what is the
  same about the maps, its of the same land
  Vesuvius is still there.

Why would peoples still live in Pompii

• Peoples might still live in Pompeii knowing
  Vesuvius might still erupt because the land there
  is beautiful is very historical.

• If Vesuvius erupted today it would cover towns
  like Mont somma, San Vito, Zabatta, Ottaviano,
  Boscoreale.
