Community Sports Coaches Scheme Phase 4
Procedure
  • Friday 30th June
  • Closing Date for Expressions of Interest
    submitted to Black Country Sports. All
    expressions of Interest will be sent to the
    relevant Local Authority and NGB. A list of all
    Expressions of Interest will be circulated to all
    partners by Friday 7th July.
  • Thursday 3rd August
  • Scrutiny of the Phase 4 bids by the Coaching
    Officiating Task Group, providing recommendations
    on the submitted bids.
  • Tuesday 29th August
  • Scrutiny of the final submitted Phase 4 bids by
    the Coaching Officiating Task Group (Richard
    Welch Chair, Simon Fisher BCS, Andrew Newman
    BCS, Wendy Remorini Dudley MBC), providing
    recommendations to the Sports Implementation
    Forum submitted bids.
  • Wednesday 30th August
  • Special Sports Implementation Forum to approve
    recommendations of the Coaching Officiating
    Task Group.
  • Friday 1st September
  • Black Country Sports submits the approved bids to
    Sport England for 12th September Regional Sports
    Board. A list of all approved bids will be sent
    to all partners.

Overall Community Sports Coach Initial Review
  • 10 Initial Application were received (Brierley
    Hill Regeneration Basketball, Birmingham County
    FA Girls Football did not submit)
  • Coaching Officiating Task Group reviewed all
    the initial applications, against the Sport
    England criteria using a scoring moderation
    process
  • All applicants received feedback on the status of
    the bids
  • Why feedback at this point?
  • Sport England circulated additional information
    surrounding the method to which the bids would be
    judged against
  • The COTG decided to give all the applicants the
    opportunity to revise and review their
    applications so that the process would be open
    and transparent.
  • Applicants were given 3 weeks to re-submit their
    applications knowing the Sport England criteria.

Community Sports Coaches Scheme Recommendations
  • Sport England Sportscoach UK have tasked the
    CSP with submitting appropriate applications that
    meet the circulated criteria.
  • Of the 12 initial Expressions of Interest, the
    COTG are recommending that 5 applications are
    submitted.

  • Walsall MBC Part-time (18 months) / Full-time
    (18 Months) Athletics CSC
  • Walsall MBC Part-time Hockey CSC

Community Sports Coaches Scheme Next Steps
  • Execution of the approved recommendations made by
    the Sports Implementation Forum
  • All approved applications placed into the Sport
    England CIF Process, for submission on the 1st
    September
  • Sport England will inform the CSP of the
    successful application by 19th September after
    the RSB on the 12th September
  • Successful Applications will receive
    notification, along with the CSP Award Agreement
    to sign by the 22nd September
  • Overall Aim CSC on the ground by 31st December
