Texas Advanced Computing Center

• TACC presently working within TG, SURA, TIGRE
• Building up a distributed and computing RD
  program independently of OSG
• UT campus grid
• Texas state grid (TIGRE)
• Regional grid (SURAgrid)
• Primarily interested in joining OSG as an
  advanced computing center with its own resources,
  technologies to contribute
• Leverage OSG participation to build peering
  relationships with other grid deployments
• Interested in relatively near-term commitment
  to/from OSG

• Sharing of resources
• Need to understand how OSG members would access
  TACC resources
• Sharing of infrastructure
• Determine which TACC tools are of interest to OSG
  to incorporate
• e.g., GridPort (grid-enabled user portals), GPIR

  MyCluster, Scheduling prediction services, Grid
  visualization (remote, collaborative)
• Determine which OSG tools are of interest to TACC
• Identify common needs, areas of RD interest
  which can be jointly addressed
• Education outreach opportunities

• TACC applications which could run on OSG include
• Computational biology, chemistry geosciences
