There are 2 different species of the panda, the
most common one bearing the name giant panda, and
the other species found in New Zealand called the
red panda having the appearance of a raccoon(see
left).

Facts on the panda

• Pandas can climb trees and swim to escape
  predators.
• Pandas were once mistaken as giant raccoons.
• The most favorite food for pandas is bamboo
  shoots but it takes them about 40 seconds to eat
  one.

We can help pandas by -------Stop cutting down
bamboo. By destroying forests, you are killing
pandas.
