Title: Working with Museums

1
Working with Museums
2
The power of object based learning Working to a
brief Using sites as inspiration Access to
specialists (curatorial and learning) on site and
via the web Support for teachers and students
3
Aims and Objectives
  • Engage KS4 5 students with the Revolution of
    Fashion Exhibition at Lotherton Hall
  • Give teachers and students access to and handling
    opportunities with the collections themselves
  • To provide students with a live brief, with the
schools acting as the designers and Lotherton
Hall as the client. Experts from the Industry
    act as judges.
  • To give teachers and students the opportunity of
being involved in a competition to design their
own couture garments, inspired by the collection.
The winning piece and runners up sketches will be
    exhibited in the exhibition itself.
  • To encourage collaboration between Lotherton
Hall, partners and Schools and provide a tool for
schools to collaborate with each other on the
project. To provide a support mechanism (In the
shape of an online portal or WIKI) that students
and staff can access throughout the duration of
    the 3 month project
  • To encourage teachers to act as experts on the
web portal, alongside a team of staff from the
    museum

Why a Wiki?
