There are a lot of different opinions as to who
Jesus is. To Catholics He is the son of the
Virgin Mary. To Jehovahs Witnesses He is the
brother of Lucifer. To Mormons He is a prophet
like Joseph Smith. To Jews Hes a good man, but
not the Messiah.

We believe He is the Son of God God incarnate
Deity in flesh The God man. Under this banner
there are a lot of different opinions of who
Jesus is. These are based upon the role in
which we see Him portrayed. There are three roles
pictured in scripture of Jesus. We see Jesus as a
Carpenter, a Shepherd, and as a Lamb.

  • JESUS AS A CARPENTER (Mark 63)
  • All types of Carpenters today- Not then
  • Home builder No
  • Furniture maker - No
  • Everyone slept on a mat on the floor.
  • They sat on pillows or on the floor.
  • The only furniture was a table.
  • Only one thing left, and that is what Jesus
    probably did.

  • Jesus was a Yoke Maker (Mat.1128-30).
  • Thats why He would talk about His yoke was easy.
  • Easy Yoke smooth, perfect fit, with no rubbing.
  • Everyone says (Mat.1128 30) Talks of comfort.
  • If the yoke is causing discomfort, youre in the
    wrong yoke.
  • Jesus has a job for you if youre not doing it
    He wont let you be comfortable.
  • He has a custom fitted yoke for each of us.

  • JESUS AS SHEPHERD (Psalm 23)
  • He is our Shepherd (vs.1).
  • He leads beside still waters (vs.1).
  • He is our provider / Protector (vs.4).
  • He is the Good Shepherd who gives His life for
    His sheep (Jn.1011).
  • He knows His sheep and they know Him (Jn.1014).

  • JESUS AS A LAMB (John 129)
  • The Lamb is the Passover Lamb (Exodus 1221-23).
  • The Passover was carried over into New Testament
    times (Mark 1412).
  • Jesus used the Passover meal to introduce the
    Lords Supper (Mark 1422-25).
