• Look for and factor out a GCF first.
• Write the sum of cubes/difference of
  cubes/difference of squares formulas on a
  notecard and prop them in front of you until you
  learn the patterns.
• Make up a song to memorize the patterns ?
• ALWAYS check each polynomial factor and make sure
  it is prime before stopping.
