First of all you should know that it uses the
number of faces, edges, and vertices.
How the Eulers formula works

• To make it easy lets say f,e, and, v to stand
  for faces, edges, and vertices. Basically the
  formula goes like this f e v. For some reason
  formula proves if you use that for any 3D shape
  it equals two.
