  • In 2005, 6 of all household personal income was
spent on health care, including premiums,
    deductibles, co-pays and non-covered expenses1.
  • On average, consumers with private insurance
    paid
  • 76 of the cost of vision care
  • 37 of the cost of dental care
  • 21 of the cost of home health care
  • 56 of other non-covered health expenses2
  • Vision, dental, home health care and other
out-of-pocket purchases accounted for 29 of all
    out-of-pocket spending1.
  • The Solution HealthAllies

    health care purchases such as

As an Alternative to Health Benefits
  • The Problem Small employers are finding it
    increasingly unaffordable to offer health
    insurance to their employees.
  • In 2006, only 60 percent of all employers with
between three and 199 workers provided insurance,
down from 68 percent five years earlier1.
  • Fewer than half of very small firms (those with
three to nine employees) offer employer-sponsored
    health insurance to their employees2.
  • The cost of health care has replaced concern
about energy and fuel as the leading issue
    impacting small businesses3.
  • The Solution HealthAllies
  • Typical savings of 10-50 on a wide range of
    health care needs, including
  • Medical care, including hospitals
  • Pharmacy
  • Dental care
  • Vision care
  • Alternative care
  • Wellness
  • Health supplies
  • Long-term care services
  • Hearing
  • Infertility treatment
  • Behavioral health

As an Option for Benefits-ineligible Workers
  • The problem Nonstandard workers (part-timers,
contract and seasonal workers) make up about 25
percent of the U.S. workforce, 4.3 million
    workers.
  • Less than 25 percent of part-time and seasonal
    employees have employer-sponsored health
    coverage1.
  • Seventy-two percent of ALL size companies do not
offer health benefits to part-time workers2.
  • Nonstandard workers are twice as likely to be
uninsured in a twelve-month period compared with
    all working-age Americans3.
  • The Solution HealthAllies
  • Typical savings of 10-50 on a wide range of
    health care needs, including
  • Medical care, including hospitals
  • Pharmacy
  • Dental care
  • Vision care
  • Alternative care
  • Wellness
  • Health supplies
  • Long-term care services
  • Hearing
