Deer Facts

• The only time that a deer is known to eat meat
  is after it loses its velvet. Male deer will eat
  the high protein velvet to get ready for the up
  coming winter and rut.
• Deer have great sense of smell, sight, and
  hearing. They will use their senses to detect
  danger.
• The whitetail deer is colorblind. So it looks for
  shapes that standout and for movement.
• Deer antler size is determined by diet and
  genetics.

This is the skeleton of a deer. Notices that the
antlers are not bone. Inside the rib is were
almost all of the deers organs are.

Hunting Regulations.

• First a hunter must have a license and/or tag.
• If a hunter was born after 1986 they must take a
  safety hunting class before buying a license.
• They must hunt in a set season.

Why People Hunt.

• People hunt for a hobby.
• For food.
• For the thrill.
• To feel power
• Hunt helps wildlife by giving money to save
  animals and their habits.

Why people are against hunters.

• They find it immoral or unethical.
• They feel that an animal should not die so we can
  eat.
• There are a lot of people that poach, to kill an
  animal illegally, and they are whipping out
  animal spices.
