• Proposal for the creation of a small committee to
  vet and oversee fund raising projects

Existing situation

• No major fundraiser
• No process for review
• Someone has a bright idea and tries to run with
  it

Resulting in..

• Poor planning
• Poor results
• No sustainable projects for the future

Suggestion (made at start of current year)

• Three Rotarians with combined Service club
  experience of 70 years and 120 years of
  corporate experience. Including past Presidents
  and event chairs, have offered to sit as a
  committee to examine all fund raising proposals.

What the committee will do

• On receipt of full proposal (see next slide) will
  review, research and make recommendations based
  on combined experience and expertise and act as a
  resource group for advice should the event go
  ahead.

Proposal composition

• Name of proposer
• Pro forma budget and P L
• Names of Rotarians prepared to commit to chair
  and participate on the fundraising committee.
• Examples of other similar events

What it will not do

• Run the event.
• Decide what is best for the club that is for
  the board to recommend and the club to decide and
  vote on at an assembly
• Anything other than simply present the facts
  with pros and cons.
