Guidelines

• Be prepared. Knowing what you want to say helps
  it run smoothly.
• Try to memorize pointsdont read. 3X5 cards with
  bullets can help.
• Practice on a family member or friend.
• Bring the book if you have it. It gives a visual
  for the audienceand gives nervous speakers
  something to do with their hands.

DO

• Mention the title and author of the chosen book.
• Give a brief plot synopsis.
• Discuss major literary elements of the book
  (consult the list from the first week).
• Discuss target audience.
• Give recommendation.

DONT

• Take more than two to three minutes.
• Be nervous. Your grade is based on content, not
  performance.
• Worry. The point is for fellow students to hear
  about other books (and for me to assess your
  understanding).
• Barf. It makes the whole class smell bad.
