Installation of ArcIMS

• Before beginning you must
• Install JRE and/or Java SDK
• Connector software (Servlet exec)
• In this order

Installation of ArcIMS

• Then, using the installation CD, install ArcIMS
• During installation you will need to
• Provide the URL for the local host
• Example giscenter-ims.isu.edu
• Accept default host and port assignments
• Browse to the location of the connector software

Post-Installation Setup

• Make final connections
• Errors do not require uninstall but only re-run
  of post-installation setup.

Process of creating an IMS site

• Author the project
• Using IMS Author or ArcMap
• Create your projects ArcIMS service
• Run ArcIMS Designer (creates the actual website
  (htmls etc).
