Recognition of John Ball

• Past President (2005-2006)
• Plans to receive his PhD in Electrical
  Engineering next semester.
• He recognized the disconnect between the Names
  and NetIDs and initiated a change to correct it.
• We are continuing this reorganization process to
  help future members and officers of Gamma Beta
  Phi.

Reorganization Reasoning

• There were over 900 members on the e-mail list at
  the beginning of this semester.
• Obviously, those that have graduated or those
  that are no longer part of GBP were not removed.
• Due to gap of Names to NetIDs, we could not track
  who was still active here on campus and who was
  not.
• Thus the reason for the e-mail that I sent to
  everyone on the list.
• As of now, 134 have responded in a weeks time.

Reorganization Reasoning Cont

• Point Lists were also not kept up to date in
  years past.
• Since records had not been kept, we have come up
  with a forgiveness policy
• Just agree to get points back for semesters
  prior.
• Hence the reasoning for a pledge to work points
  off.

Committees

• Program/Project Committee
• Financial Committee

Program/Project Committee

• Help the Executive Committee in making flyers for
  the meetings and help post them around campus
  before meetings
• To talk one-to-one with possible speakers and/or
  event organizers.
• Come up with and organize Projects with the
  community.
• Come up with a specific time and date for an
  event and let me or other officers know and we
  can put up on the web and in the e-mails.
• We will all be on the same page as far as
  Projects Involvement!

Financial Committee

• Help the treasurer (Hang) in keeping track of
  spending/earnings for Gamma Beta Phi.
• Ensure that all check amounts and purpose match
  up to the stubs in the check book.
• Keep track of spending/earnings as we progress
  through the year
• More efficient and helps finish the
  end-of-the-year report much quicker.
• Dont want to have to look back three months for
  what a certain expenditure was.

Social Committee

• Plan at least one Social Event per semester for
  Gamma Beta Phi
• Ultimate Frisbee
• Football
• Red-light/Green-light
• I know some of you some ideas as well

Publicity Committee

• Also help with getting the word out about Gamma
  Beta Phi.
• Utilize all media Outlets like the reflector,
  MS-State TV, and Starkville Daily Journal to
  Promote Gamma Beta Phi about a Program/Project
• Aid the Historian in taking pictures and accounts
  of GBPs activities (captions for Pics)
• Building a scrapbook of years activities.
