Overview

• Computing Project (DCS5098) is a part of the
  course that is both time consuming and is an
  important activity.
• This is because it covers theory, empirical and
  practical.
• Students will form a group of THREE people to
  complete the project.

Pre-requisite

• Total Credit Hour including this trimester 60
  Hours (as long as you do not get barred or
  withdraw from the course the hours are still
  counted)
• If you fail hours are still counted.

What to do?

• Required to develop a system or application that
  is
• Web Based Application / Standalone
• Multimedia-based System
• Network-based

Minimum Requirement

• Web based and Standalone
• Interim must have prototype (min 5 Webpages).
• Minimum 3 tables inside the database.
• Minimum 2 types of user (must include admin)
• 2 user can login, but 1 user must have full
  function add, edit, delete and search.
• Cannot do web hosting.

Minimum Requirement

• Multimedia
• Interim must have prototype (min 5 pages).
• Media ( animation, narration, text, graphics,
  splash screen, music and etc.). Choose at least
  2.
• For narration and music must have an option to
  select either want to mute or un-mute.
• Must use scripting.

Language Used?

• Example JSP, ASP, PHP, VB, C, Java, Oracle,
  MySQL etc
• CANNOT USE Any code generator such as ASPMaker,
  AppGini, phpMyEdit, phpMyCode, phpMaker,
  CodeCharge, etc.

Duration

• Total duration of the Project is from Trimester 2
  till Trimester 3.
• Below are the tasks flow that students need to
  do during Trimester 2 and Trimester 3

• Trimester 2 (2009/2010)
• FYP briefing - 26 October 2009 (Monday)
• Release FYP title - 27 October 2009 (Tuesday)
• Book FYP title and select supervisor - Latest by
  30 October 2009 (Friday)
• Submit FYP Proposal - Latest by 5 November 2009
  (Thursday)
• Trimester 3 (2009/2010)
• Submit Interim Report Interim Presentation
  (Week 1)
• Submit Final Report Final Presentation (Week 12
  or 13)
• Submit Hardcover Report (Week 14)

Grading Assessment

• This Final Year Project carries a total of 100
  marks. Each and every member of the group will be
  graded individually. Below are the distribution
  of the marks
