Any accounting journal or transaction may be
processed through the Batch Transaction screen.
In many cases, though, GhostPractice provides
more automated methods of processing accounting
transactions. This screen is used where such
automations are not possible, appropriate or
practical.

A good example of this type of transaction is
processing an office creditor invoice. Other
examples are provided within this presentation
under receipts and payments.

• Transactions which are generally automated by
  GhostPractice are
• Fees All fee earners record their own fees and
  where invoices are not set to automatically
  generate via the system, they can also generate
  their own invoices. In the case of both
  (unbilled) fees and invoices, all ledger entries
  are processed by the system automatically.
  Bookkeepers need never post fees.
• Disbursements Fee Earners are also able to
  record their own disbursements. All they need do
  is to capture the business creditors invoice line
  by line and click Post, the system does all
  ledger entries automatically. There is no reason
  for bookkeepers to process disbursements at all.
• On-Line Receipts As detailed in the Receipts
  section of this presentation, where on-line
  receipts are appropriate, the system will process
  the ledger entries as the receipt is produced.
• On-Line Payments In most cases, payments can be
  captured via the requisition program and merely
  authorised by accounts. When this option is used,
  the ledger entries happen automatically.
