- Philosophy of District Awards
5Philosophy of District Awards
- In reviewing projects, special weighting will
be given to those projects carried out by clubs
of an innovative and outstanding nature. - Consideration will be also given to the size of
the club in judging points. Less prominence will
be given to projects which should be considered
to be part of the normal program of a Rotary
club. - A project may be either short or long term, but
must have reached a stage in its development
where its past and/or future value can already be
demonstrated clearly.
6Philosophy of District Awards
- Clubs submitting a project for the competition
can, in addition to a detailed report, submit up
to four size A4 photographs of the project
together with a one-paragraph (50 words)
description for each photograph. These will be
displayed at the District Conference. - If in consideration of the Award Committee, no
project is worthy of receiving the award, they
shall so declared at the District Conference
referred to above.
7District Awards
- Purpose of District Awards
8Purpose of District Awards
- The District Awards Program includes several
areas of recognition to promote excellence in
club service and contributions to the
communities, which are served by the clubs both
domestic and international. - Each year, the District Governor will modify
this program as dictated by the goals he/she
expects to achieve. However, most of the program
will continue from year to year.
9Purpose of District Awards
- This year, the primary change is based on the
Club Leadership Plan in order to reduce the
number of awards in the different categories in
an effort to produce a simplified and more
meaningful program when the recognition is made
at the close of the District Conference. - All clubs compete on an equal basis. Clubs will
have an opportunity to win or be recognized
relative to performance.
10Purpose of District Awards
- The levels of achievement are
- 1st Place (Gold Award),
- 2nd Place (Silver Award),
- 3rdPlace (Bronze Award).
- A Platinum Award could be awarded for the best
higher achievement of Clubs.
