• The Mathematics Modeling Our World project was
  led by
• Solomon Garfunkel, COMAP, Inc., Lexington, MA
• Landy Godbold, The Westminster Schools, Atlanta,
  GA
• Henry Pollak, Teachers College, Columbia
  University, NY, NY
• COMAP wanted to make a curriculum that
  encompassed the NCTM Standards.

Philosophy

• Not everyone will become a mathematician, but
  everyone needs to understand and apply
  mathematics in real life.
• Mathematics Modeling Our World is founded on
  the principle that mathematics is a necessary
  tool for understanding the physical and social
  worlds in which we live.
