Basic Ideas

• Most logic circuits can be generalized into a few
  major types of functions
• Logic
• Adder
• MUX, Decoder
• Tri-state I/O buffers
• Look up table
• Memory
• Flip/Flop, registers
• These circuits can be grouped and be made
  programmable by setting of enable/disable
  control signals
• Interconnects between the blocks can be
  enabled/disabled in a similar fashion
