How To Play

• Throw the ring, attached to a string, towards the
  hook of the bulls nose
• Each players allowed so many attempts to ring
  the bull then pass it
• Player with the most rings out of 21 attempts
  wins
• OR, first player to achieve the feat 16 times

• In 1189-most famous pub The Trip to Jerusalem
  in the cliffs underneath Nottingham Castle old
  crusaders tavern
• Earliest confirmed documented reference, in
  England in Men of Character by D. Jerrold in
  1838

Rules and Regulations

• Indoor game, pubs
• Stand behind a set line (12 feet) from the hook
  facing it
• Rope/string must hang from ceiling
• Hook must point upwards
• Targets a hook on a wall, eye-height
• Swing clockwise (right-handed) the ring with aim
  to land on the hook
• Tie breaker--take a turn each of 10 throws in
  succession until one wins
