INTRODUCTION

• In this project, we are going to
  discuss deforestation in Hong Kong. We focus on
  the condition in Lugard Road. Then, we will
  divide the project into different parts and ask
  questions to tell you what happened in Hong Kong.

• In Hong Kong, large areas of completely
  natural woodland are not founded. But we can find
  the other natural woodland in Hong Kong such as
• The Peak
• Green Island (??)
• Lantau Peak

• Trees on steep slopes may easily fall down
• No tree root to bind the soil
• Increase demand for wood
• Habitats for wild plants and animals can be
  destroyed

What are the causes of the problems?

• Trees on steep slopes may easily fall down
• When raining, rainwater erodes the soil.
  Therefore, trees fall down easily.
• No Tree root to bind the soil
• When typhoon comes, wind blows the loosen soil.
• Human constructions constantly loosen the soil.

What are the causes of the problems

• Demand for wood increase
• - Demand for wood by human beings
• Habitats for wild plants and animals can be
  destroyed
• Government ignores the importance of vegetation
  cover.

How do these problems affect our lives ?

• Trees on the steep slope may easily fall down
• - causing traffic jam and damage some buildings
• No Tree root to bind the soil
• Cause the landslide
• Trees collapse easily when typhoon comes to Hong
  Kong
• People living in the woodland need timber
• - Affect our natural environment
• Habitats for wild plants and animals can be
  destroyed
• - The natural environment is changed by some
  plants and animals destroyed.

They are able to solve the problems. For example

  Power, Green Peace.
• Learn more information about the rainforest.
• Do not waste lots of exhaust gas.
• Do not cut more trees

Conclusion

• To sum up, we know that there are a few
  woodland problems in Hong Kong. And we know the
  causes about the deforestation in Hong Kongs
  woodland.
