Proxies/Sponsor First you must get the sponsors
Patron ID (the 5 digit Aleph ID). Write it
down.
Sponsors Aleph ID
Sponsors name
The sponsor is Marie Teluntel. Her Aleph ID is

Next, open the proxys (added borrowers) patron
record. If the proxy does not already have a
patron record you will have to create one

• Duplicate the proxys Patron record.
• From the Aleph Main Menu go to
• Patrons
• Duplicate Patron
• or use shortcut CtrlF10

A new Global Patron Information window will
appear. Follow this format for entering the
Proxys name LASTNAME, FIRSTNAME (SPONSERS
proxy) Example LE FATALISTE, JACQUES
(Teluntels proxy)

• When proxy, or added borrowers, come to a service
  desk, we verify their identity with their picture
  ID.
• Then, we look them up by their last name and
  chose the appropriate sponsor name in the
  parentheses
• Which of Mr. Lefatalistes proxy accounts would
  we choose?
• Lefataliste, Jacques (Teluntels proxy)
• or
• Lefataliste, Jacques (Chomskys proxy)-
• it would all depend on for whom hes borrowing
  books.

Enter the sponsors Patron ID, which you wrote
down, into the Sponsor ID field

Add the proxys original Patron ID, (which is
still visible in the inactive background window),
into the Primary ID field.

Proxy type 99 means that all notices are sent
to both the sponsor and the proxy

The X Proxies/Sponsor line of the navigation
pane will show an increase by 1 within the
parentheses.
