Type 3 is a proven design, possible modifications
include (from C. Pagani)

• Quad-BPM assembly support (sliding as for
  cavities) planned for X-FEL
• Various braids for heat sinking (all coupler
  sinking style)
• Cables, Cabling, Connectors and Feed-through all
  must be qualified
• Composite post diameter and flanges
• Warm connection of post to vacuum vessel (fixed
  and sliding)
• Incorporate MLI Blankets for the 50-70 K shield
  (LHC Style)
• Module interconnection vacuum vessel sealing,
  pipe welds, etc.
• Coupler provisional fixtures and assembly
