Noise Sensitive Areas / No fly zones in every
direction.
Military VFR flight over the following

Due to the close proximity to San Diego Intl
Airport (Lindbergh Field), all arrivals AND
departures are to/from the South.

VFR COORIDOR
A VFR Corridor has been established above North
Islands Class D and Arrival corridor. Altitudes
are 3300ft. 4700ft. MSL. Exercise extreme
caution on an extended base into NASNI due to
aircraft exiting the VFR corridor descending into

14
TAXIWAYS - Outbound
18
  • From the ground, the airfield tends to look like
one big slab of concrete making it difficult to
discern taxiway from pad from runway.
  • In general, the taxiways are a lighter color of
concrete. If in question, stop and ask ground for
    progressive.

locations with respect to the end of the
runway. Use boards for line speed numbers.

Departure Procedures
  • R/W 18 Primary departure runway. After takeoff,
climb straight ahead, adhering to any altitude
restrictions imposed by tower or IFR clearance.
  • R/W 11 Winds from the EAST. After takeoff, turn
right 30º or greater, as soon as possible to
reduce noise in the city of Coronado, BUT DO NOT
OVERFLY CLUB or LODGE AREA NEAR DEPARTURE END OF
    RUNWAY.

17
Arrival Procedures
  • R/W 29 OVERHEAD
  • Break Altitude 1500 AGL
  • Pattern Altitude 1000 AGL
  • Left Traffic
  • Helicopters in the Channel be aware of fixed wing
aircraft departing R/W 29 will make a climbing

Arrival Procedures
  • R/W 29
  • Fixed wing a/c on an offset GCA will be
instructed to proceed visually at 1 mile from
touchdown/runway (2 DME). Decision Height is at
2 miles for offset approach. PAR Offset
approaches are in effect when wx is gt 600/2nm
  • VFR a/c inbound from the W/SW should remain at or
    above 2,500 until crossing the R/W 18/36
    extended centerline.

20
Arrival Procedures
  • R/W 18
  • A/C requesting Bay approach for Runway 18 shall
cross 4 DME East of the airport 1000 or above.
Be extremely cautious of GCA a/c inbound to
Runway 29. Aircraft altitudes are approximately
the same where the Runway 29 extended centerline
is crossed entering the BAY. When proceeding up
the bay, staying in the center of the channel and
cross the Coronado Bay Bridge at 1500.

21
Arrival Procedures
  • R/W 36
  • Primary arrival runway for Tactical and Heavy
    aircraft
  • No break traffic
  • CAUTION Pt. Loma 544
  • At night there are flashing white lights on the
jetty, which extends South of the runway and
crosses the extended centerline. These lights
point toward a brightly lit magazine area to the
    left of the runway.
