Legislation

• House Bill 4835 passed in May 2006

• Red light violations are treated as

How It Works

• The system uses Digital Technology to capture
  images of offending vehicles
• The captured images and information are
  transmitted to back office using secure network
• Back office operators perform first quality check
  and submit violations for Police review
• Trained Police officers review each violation as
  a secondary check
• Police-approved violations are printed and mailed
  to registered owners of the vehicles

The Images

• All images and data are protected against
  tampering through the use of encryption and
  data-integrity codes embedded into them.
• The two wide-angle images can be used as
  evidence to show that the vehicle was moving and
  the zoom image gives a close-up on the licence
  plate.
• The 12 second video clip is pre-emptive showing
  the vehicle entering the intersection and going
  through, and includes the view of the physical
  light.
