  • These puzzles were chosen to demonstrate
  • Key points about creative thinking.
  • Generally word puzzles like the first 6 have
single, finite answers. This are used to relate
to how we are taught in school to always look for
one correct answer, the right one instead of
seeking new and creative ones. Instead we need
to seek and generate many possible answers before
choosing the best to most relevant and helpful
    solution.
  • Second pointLife has many possible to probable
    answers
  • to most questions and problem. Not just one
    correct one.
  • The 9 Dot puzzle is a classic puzzle that
    supposedly
  • demonstrates that in order to solve it you must
  • BREAK OUT OF THE BOX. I have changed
  • the problem by wording it to say 4 or less
    straight lines.
  • Now the number of answer reaches very large
    numbers
  • and possibly infinite depending upon the point of
    view
  • or perspective used to solve it. Point is not to
    be limited by
  • what you think the problem is.
  • The letters in a box or word puzzle challenges
    people
  • to have to see things differently to find known
    answers or

The goals of these puzzles are to encourage
people to Think creatively. To think out of
the normal way, out of the box, even off the
wall to whacky possibly. To look at and see
problems differently or from different
viewpoints/perspectives. To not limit
themselves in their potential answers to
problems. Not to stop at the obvious or expected
answer. To continue on until many possible to
highly probable answers are generated. It is
easier to tame a wild idea down to make it work,
then to make a dull, boring idea
exciting. paraphrased from Alex Osborn,
creator of Brainstorming
