Goals and benefits

• Better understanding of how high-speed
  infrastructures react to traffic load
• Support in the definition of TCP-based services
• Tuning of the network infrastructure for better
  handling of best-effort bursty traffic
• Exploration of QoS provisioning needed for
  less-than-best-effort services
• Analysis of queueing behavior in over-provisioned
  networks
• Integration and sharing of the existing GEANT
  monitoring with end-to-end DataGRID network
  monitoring data
• Feedback on the use of multicast for innovative
  applications
• Provide information on the benefits of the IP
  Premium service
