What does Youre Welcome offer?
  • Clearly branded services to support young people
to navigate the system and access services
  • Joined up working between Local Authorities and
    the PCT

provide a shared tool for joint commissioning,
    service and performance improvement

Improving health outcomes for young people in
London
  • Youre Welcome has worked in Pilot areas in
    London to
  • Enable services to involve young people in design
  • and delivery of services
  • Incorporate young peoples experience of
    attending
  • their services into strategic planning
  • Encouraged a review of where and how young
  • peoples services are delivered
  • Enable services to look at developmental
  • issues such as training, publicity, access,
  • environment and treatment options

7
London Early Findings - Pilot areas tell us
  • There is a wide variation in the quality and
accessibility of young peoples services across
    the pilot areas in London
  • About the importance of integrating health and
    childrens services
  • About the importance of holistic care planning
    and clear pathways
  • We need to consider the London resource to
support services to meet Youre Welcome
  • There is commitment and enthusiasm among
professionals to reach out to young people and
    offer high quality support
  • There is wide spread recognition that Youre
Welcome can enable young people to be more
involved in the design and delivery of their
    services

8
Londons Young People tell us
  • They want to be engaged and consulted on service
    delivery and design
  • They have clear ideas and are willing to tell us
about what they want from services in terms of
accessibility, environment, how they are treated
    and what they are offered
  • Confidentiality is one of their primary concerns
they want to see confidentiality policies and
    be told about them
  • Opening times of services need to reflect times
    young people can physically
  • access services
  • They want services located near public transport
    but not where they may
  • seen by members of the community
  • They want to receive test results quickly
  • They want staff to be friendly, approachable and
    discreet
