New Library Computers

7th Grade Language Arts
  • All 7th grade Language Arts classrooms are now
    equipped with a 5-station mini-lab!
  • 7th grade Special Ed Language Arts now has 2 new
    computers!!

  • Work and Family Studies now has a 6-station
    mini-lab to facilitate their careers unit!

AlphaSmarts
  • 6th grade core classes now have 26 AlphaSmart
    3000 keyboards to share for WAC and keyboarding
    activities.
  • Special Ed now has 4 AlphaSmart 2000s!!

Anti-Virus
  • The county has finally put 70,000 into the
    budget for virus protection county-wide!
  • Well be using a program called e-safe and
    should be in place in about a month.

Remote Administration
  • With the addition of new software this year, I
    will now be able to work on your computers
    remotely without having to disturb your classes.

Apple //gs Lab Retired
  • The Apple //gs lab has been retired. All of the
    computers that were part of this lab have been
    placed into classrooms that can and will make use
    of them.

Macs removed from network
  • Due to numerous network conflicts caused by the
    Macintosh computers, they are being moved OFF of
    the network.
  • This means that they will no longer have access
    to the Internet or to the school network.

  • I will be working with those teachers involved to
    devise ways these machines can still be utilized
    as stand-alone systems.

Paper Conservation
  • We are going to try to save as much paper as
    possible this year by making use of email and the
    PUBLIC folder to disseminate administrative
    information.

  • This is the last year for LCI
