Our maps are not perfect, but we did agree as a
district to use these maps for the 2007-08 SY.
As you use our maps this year please make good
notes. We will use your notes to help us update
the maps for the 2008-2009 SY.

4? Questions ? What is a District Map? A district
map is a road map of what we plan to teach our
students during a given month. Our maps do not
define how we are to teach, but what we are to
teach. In ACS, our District Maps are the same as
our TN curriculum. What is a Diary Map? A
diary map is a copy of the district map for a
given subject with additional space provided for
us to record the progress we have made with our
current students. It is a personal diary of
what we actually accomplished during the month.

5? Questions ? Why do we Diary Map? We know as
educators, some groups of students travel (learn)
faster than others. If we are going to work as a
team, we all need to know what was learned so
that we can build on the progress achieved.
Video Paula Sellers Did you know 26 of our
ACS students move from one school to another
within our district! How often should I
Diary Map?Principals will be checking diary maps
at least once a month. Please check with your
principal to see how many times he/she will be
checking the diary maps in your building. Some
principals are already checking maps more often.

- Once you copy your maps, you should save them
- in the current school year.
- This copy now becomes your Diary Map.
-
Pay attention to the drop-down box to the right
of your maps. It is important to know what
mode you are in as you work on your maps. Each
mode will give you a different list of options.
(There are 4 different modes Edit, View,
Delete, or Copy)

Top 4 Lessons Learned 4- StandardsThe
standards should already be linked back to our
TN State Standards on each of our district maps.
Keep in mind, ACS does have a few standards
listed on our district maps which exceed the
state requirements. In this case, there will be
no link back to the state curriculum.
