genomic sequence information, users need
software programs that allow them to visually
display data. -Genomes can be treated as long
linear sequences, but it is more useful to
integrate DNA sequence information with Existing
genetic and physical map data. -Graphical and
color coded displays allow for easy Comparison
among closely related organisms (useful in gene
rearrangement studies or may reveal unique DNA
regions).
