National Healthy Schools Standard (NHSS)

• The National Healthy School Standard funded by
  the DoH and DfES
• Part of the government's drive to reduce health
  inequalities, promote social inclusion and raise
  educational standards.

Surrey Healthy Schools Scheme

• Surrey Scheme accredited in April 01
• Currently 146 schools at Level 3 (36)
• All Surrey schools to be able to access scheme by
  2006
• All Surrey schools with 20 FSM by 2006
• Surrey Healthy Schools to deliver CPD PSHE
  Certification for teachers
