All About Chao

• This is all the info youll need about raising
  your chao.

Hatching and Other Stuff

• Hatching When you enter the chao garden for the
  first time, you will see two eggs. Pick them up
  and hug them. Put them down and after a couple of
  seconds, the chao should hatch.
• Misc. - Raising chao are kind of like raising
  kids. They eat, sleep, go to school, and throw
  tantrums. When they are hungry they cry. When
  they cry they throw tantrums.

Feeding

• Feeding to feed a chao, just go up to a tree
  and shake it. If you go to the black market (only
  in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Ill explain the
  black market later.) there are many other
  different fruits. But when you are first playing
  save your rings! These fruits cost money! Just
  stick to the fruits in the garden. They are free!

Praise and Discipline

• Praise - When a chao does something you want it
  to you pet it. When you just feel like giving it
  praise hug it. Dont pet a chao while it is
  crying. If you do this a lot, your chao will
  become a cry baby.
• Discipline Never throw your chao. Well you
  canbut then you are a meanie! When you throw a
  chao with a hero character it turns darker, and
  vice-versa.

Animals and Chaos Drives.

• Chao arent only for feeding! They are for racing
  too! (And karate if you have SA2B)
• When youre in stages (in the actual game) you
  kill enemies right? When you kill an enemy or
  robot, animals and chaos drives appear. If you
  are fighting a robot, youll get a chaos drive.
  This is usually common. Sometimes youll fight
  other enemies and get animals. You can also find
  animals just walking around in the stages. These
  raise stats. Stats are what help chao win when
  competing.

Types of Drives and Animals.

• When you get chaos drives and animals they arent
  all the same color! Different colors lead up to
  different stats! There are 4 colors swimming,
  flying, running, and power. There are also three
  more color categories for animals but not for
  chaos drives normal, legendary, and ghost. Since
  these arent as important, I wont talk about
  these as much.

First Evolutions

• As time goes by in the chao garden youll notice
  differences in your chao. And if youve been
  giving it alot of drives and animals, the
  differences will be...cooler. If you gave it a
  lot of power (red) things it will turn into a
  power chao. Its the same with each type Normal,
  legendary, and ghost dont have evolutions.

Should I Be Hero? Dark? Or Neutral?

• This decision is up to you. If you mostly go into
  the chao garden with hero characters (Sonic,
  Tails, and Knuckles) then your chao will probably
  become a hero chao. If you go in more with dark
  characters (Shadow, Eggman, and Rouge) your chao
  will be a dark chao. Or you can use the hero and
  dark side for your chao and have a neutral chao.

Secondary Evolutions

• Once your chao has been around for a long time.
  And I mean a LONG time. Your chao will start
  looking different. Depending on what type of
  drives you give it yada yada. Except when your
  chao goes into evolution this time. It wont go
  into an egg. It just evolves gradually. If you
  have a colored chao, the changes wont be as big.

Immortal Chao

• When you chao has been reincarnated, or brought
  back to life twice you can make it immortal. On
  your chaos third life you must bring 1 and ONLY
  1 of each animal. No chaos drives. NO 2 of any
  animal. Just double of 1 animal will cause your
  chao not to become a chaos chao and you will have
  to wait until your chaos next life. After youve
  done that. Just treat it normally. If you want
  neutral, hero, or dark chaos chao. You know what
  to do.

Chao Have Sex Too!

• Once your chao has been around for a while it
  will go into mating season. You can tell if a
  chao goes into mating season if you see it
  sitting down with a bunch of flowers surrounding
  it. Put another chao right next to it. (Chao can
  only mate with each other if they have evolved at
  least once.) Since this is a E rated game they
  wont get it goin on. Theyll just do a dance and
  another egg will appear. Depending on what chao
  mated is what kind of egg you will get. This is
  one way to get some of the rarest chao!

Time for Another Public Humiliation At
School!

• The Classroom
• We go to school, so do chao. Well not really,
  they just learn how to dance, sing, draw stuff,
  and play instruments.
• To make a chao learn stuff just bring it to the
  kindergarten and put it in the classroom. When
  you first start the game the kindergarten will
  not be there. You will need to go there again.
  Once they learn something they will do it in the
  chao garden.

The Fortune Teller

• Surprise! Surprise! This chao doesnt tell
  fortunes! She gives your chao a random name. This
  is only for SA2B though. This is great if you
  never have any names for your chao. However the
  chao names arent that great. There are names
  like Papoose. Thats the weirdest chao name
  Ive ever seen. If you want to name the chao
  yourself just tell the fortune teller you dont
  want the name she picked or anymore names shell
  pick and there ya go.

Check Up Time!

• When a chao is first born its a good idea to
  bring him to the doctor. There you can see what
  race and medals he won and how far he is in
  karate. You can also see your chaos personality,
  and the chaos favorite fruit.

Check Up Time 2

• The most important thing here is the stat
  rankings. They are in letters E-S. E is the worst
  and S is the best. (rhymes huh?) There is a
  different ranking for each type of stat
  Swimming, flying, running, power, and stamina.
  Your rank goes up in that stat if you evolve it.
  Say if my stamina ranking was D. To make it go up
  to a C, I would just evolve the chao into a
  normal adult chao. For power or the other stats,
  just evolve the chao into that type.

Chao Gardens

• I bet you thought there was only 1 chao garden
  huh? Well youre wrong. Remember in Sonic
  Adventure when there was 3? Theres 3 in this one
  too! (obviously) You get the Hero Garden by
  making a hero chao. You get the Dark Garden by
  making a dark chao. As I said before, Use hero
  characters for to-be hero chao. Use dark
  characters for to-be dark chao.

The Black Market

• Here you can buy stuff for your chao. There are
  things here like hats, different fruits, seeds
  to plant in the garden for different fruits, and
  different colored chao eggs. Obviously these
  things cost money, in this caserings. To plant a
  seed in the chao garden you have to make a chao
  beat the first 2 chao races on level 3. Then just
  give the chao the seed and let him do it. This
  takes awhile. To get a skull or pumpkin for your
  chao to wear just use Rouge or Knuckles in the
  chao garden and dig in different spots until you
  find one. This works best in the Dark Garden.

Racing

• Like I said before, you can race your chao. By
  getting 1st place in all of the races, you get
  some emblems. When you first see the racing menu
  there is only one category. There will be lots
  more once you beat the 4 races on beginner level.
  You have to beat all races on the 3rd level..
  You dont get what Im saying huh? Okay, Ill
  explain. Every race has 3 levels. The 1st one is
  easy. 2nd medium (some times hard on the harder
  race categories) and hard (or impossible.) Beat
  all three levels on each race and youll be a
  racing champion.

Chao Karate

• Also in SA2B theres something new called Chao
  Karate. Its a lot like racing. If you win, you
  get prizes. Your chao fight another chao using
  karate moves and stamina. If you beat all three
  levels (beginner, normal, and hard) you unlock a
  new level which you practically need level 99 or
  every stat to beat it! (Its much easier getting
  level 99 stats if you have an immortal chao.)

The Tiny Chao Garden

• If you have Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, A GBA to GC
  (game cube) cord, and a GBA (game boy advance)
  you can put your chao on the GBA. Its also
  useful if you have Sonic Advance 1, 2 or 3 so you
  can keep your chao in the game and save it. You
  can find eggs and fruits that you cant find in
  the original game. Time also doesnt pass there
  so your chao doesnt age. This is the other way
  to get all level 99 stats.
