• The students will write their own odyssey from
  their own life. This will no doubt be influenced
  by the students culture and context
• Asking the student what defines a hero can also
  produce the same effect

Contextualism

• Relating it to the culture or episteme
• By taking pop culture (Star Wars, Superman)
  references and asking the class to compare and
  contrast them with the Odyssey, I am able to take
  something that is from their everyday world and
  paradigm and compare it to the text.

• 1. Look at other instances of popular culture
  that fit better with the text
• 2. Revise lesson based on student output and
  evaluation
• 3. Debrief with students when the lesson is over
  to see what needs to be changed
