1 U.S. Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand
2American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
3- The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act aka
the Stimulus Bill is an effort to jumpstart our
economy, create or save millions of jobs, and put
a down payment on addressing long- neglected
challenges so our country can thrive in the 21st
century. - A Copy of the original 407 page document can be
viewed at the site set up by the White House.

4- The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
targets investments towards key areas that will
save or create good jobs immediately, while also
laying the groundwork for long-term economic
growth.
5 Where the money going
6We estimate that this act will potentially bring
25 billion in additional federal funding into
New York State.
7Distribution
In many cases the funds will be distributed via
the established state formulas, which will give
the authority for the funding to the governor and
the state agencies.
8Distribution
Other stimulus funds will be distributed through
existing federal agency grants.
9Distribution
And finally, some new funding programs, will come
through yet to be devised funding streams The
secretary of the federal agency will create a
program to disburse the funds.
10Not all of the stimulus funding is going towards
shovel ready projects that are at the
Governors discretion
11- Information about how funds will be dispersed
under the Recovery and Reinvestment Act has been
difficult to access and decipher.
12Our office has put together a guide to the act to
help you to find What is in the act
How to apply for it.
