with inputs and outputs, and represents one part
of the workflow.

Setup
- GL- the basic building block of the cost
structure - GL represent the accounts used in the
conventional accounting system - Should incorporate all the expenditure accounts
the company has defined, not just the accounts
which have costs set against them in the current
period.

- Gathering of similar General Ledger accounts
into Natural Expense Categories. - Keep the number of account groups (NECs) to a
minimum but make sure that the groups are not too
narrowly defined.
