Main Idea of the ActivityCreating
opportunities for women to continue their careers
after childbirth by working at homeDeveloping
an alternative solution for long-term childcare
leaves

• The authors of the project consider telework as
  a useful tool for reducing staff fluctuation and
  the number of long-term childcare leaves that
  seems to create risk for parents financial and
  professional status (very low and strictly
  income-related childcare fees and isolation from
  the workplace)

• Results of the telework activities
• 22 beneficiaries (employed pregnant women,
  mothers of newborn children or women planning to
  have children in the near future) have applied to
  take part in our project
• 5 of them resigned due to various reasons (e.g.
  pregnancy health problems, reluctancy of the
  employers)

• The entire group consisting of 17 women started
  their participation in the project with intense
  training on time management and career planning,
  organised by Pro Europa Foundation

• Further trainings for women-teleworkers were
  organised by the Chamber of Commerce
• IT tranining, including construction of the
  computer equipment, software and operating system
  installation, use of Internet, MS Excel, MS Word,
  MS PowerPoint (45 hours)

• Further trainings for women-teleworkers were
  organised by the Chamber of Commerce
• training for teleworkers employers and
  supervisors, including concept and definitions
  of telework, legal frameworks of this employment
  type, and forms of supervision and assessment,
  creating teleworkplace at home and its
  organisation (8 hours)

• Further trainings for women-teleworkers were
  organised by the Chamber of Commerce
• in October 2007 all beneficiaries started their
  individualised training paths including
  specialist software which was required in their
  work
• MS Word (advanced level),
• MS Excel (advanced level),
• MS PowerPoint (advanced level),
• MS Access (basic level),
• webmastering and HTML programming
• HR and salaries management software
• social insurance payments software
• translation software

• Employers of the beneficiaries were also offered
  specialist guidance services on telework
• The beneficiaries were offered necessary computer
  equipment (laptops, PCs, monitors, printers,
  Internet installation, etc.) and on-going support
  from an IT consultant

• Eight beneficiaries have already started working
  at home as teleworkers, four beneficiaries are to
  start their telework at the beginning of
  December.
• In the next 4 months the rest of the group will
  become teleworkers as well.
