19ESOL ADMINISTRATOR DUTIES Print out documents
sent to you via email. Read all documents
provided to you. Before exam Pick-up tickets
from Test Central, in the Media Center, before
school. I will be here by 630 am. Count tickets
and Initial Out on the Test Transmittal form.
All your tickets for the day will be included in
the count. Administrators must turn on the
computers and bring them to the login screen.
(see appendix) For student identification
procedures each student will be required to show
you a picture ID to receive their ticket. Give
the student their ticket and check the ID if they
have it out, otherwise ask them to place their
IDs on the desktop and you can go back and check
them after testing has begun. If you cannot
verify the identity of a student, give the
student their ticket make a note on the
attendance sheet and the classroom teacher will
be notified. ARRIVE AT YOUR TEST SITE ON TIME,
DELAYS WILL RESULT IN LESS TESTING TIME IN CLASS
FOR THE STUDENTS AND MAY NECESSITATE EXITING
STUDENTS FROM THE TEST AND TAKING THE THEM TO THE
LIBRARY TO FINISH THE TEST. Start test procedures
(passing out the tickets and manipulative) as
soon as the bell rings, so all students will have
enough time to finish the test during the
allotted time. Hall duty monitors may assist you
in passing out tickets and manipulative if you
want. Students must stagger the start time of the
test. The best way to accomplish this
taskinform students that you will pass out the
tickets one at a time, when they receive their
ticket they should begin to log in their
information. If a student has trouble logging in,
have them clear out the information and login
again. There is nothing wrong with the ticket,
there may be an error in the keying in of the
information on their part or you may need to move
them to a different computer. If a student has
trouble, dont hold up the class for this one
student. If a student does not have a
ticket He/she may be in the wrong class, check
the class roll. Check your test schedule for room
assignments. Send the student to the appropriate
room. If there are too many students for the
room, send the students to the overflow room
indicated on the test schedule. They may have
already passed the test and will not have a
ticket in the packet. Their classroom teacher
should have told them where to report.
MANIPULATIVES Subject area teachers will place
manipulative in the classroom. Contact Debbie
Allen or Greta Bates for the exact procedure for
science and math.
During testing Instruction booklets will be in
the testing site. Please leave them in the
testing site for the next teacher. Instructions
are to be read verbatim to students. These
instructions are preceded by the word SAY and
are in bold type. Monitor students closely,
without looking at test items, during each
testing session by moving as unobtrusively as
possible about the room Check to see that
students are using only the ancillary materials
that are appropriate for a test, i.e.
calculators, scratch paper. If scratch paper is
provided, you must pass it out to students,
collect it and return it to the Media Center
along with your tickets. Geometry students may
not touch the screen to examine lines/angles.
They have been told this in their
training. Report any testing irregularities to
Mrs. Vourlas IMMEDIATELY. (Read over this
section in the examiners booklet.)
Students are not to have any other books on their
desks during the test. TICKETS MUST BE COLLECTED
BEFORE STUDENTS ARE ALLOWED TO WORK ON ANY OTHER
ASSIGNMENTS. When collecting the students test
ticket, examiners should instruct the students to
shutdown and turn the computer on after testing.
Make sure this directive is followed. Students
are not allowed to work or play on the
computers. Five to ten minutes before end of
test session Exit students requiring more time
from the online test. Turn these students and
their tickets over to a hall duty teacher
students ARE NOT PERMITTED TO TALK DURING THIS
TIME. THE HALL DUTY TEACHER WILL COLLECT ALL THE
STUDENTS (FROM THE 4TH FLOOR OR TECH WING)
NEEDING EXTRA TIME AND BRING THEM and their
tickets to the library to continue taking the
test. Bring the students to Mr. LaRocco in the
small lab of the media center. Enter from the 1st
floor hallway, so as not to disturb students
testing in the main media center. Ms. LaRocco
will be waiting for you.
Return tickets in alphabetical order, of those
students who have submitted their test, to me in
the Media Center, by 215 p.m. the day of
testing. Return used scratch paper to room 314,
leave all unused scratch paper in the testing
site. Make sure all completed test tickets have a
teachers signature and ending time written in
upper right corner. Sign the Examiners
Affidavit column on Ticket Transmittal Form.
