Washington D.C.

The White House
  • The White House was built on November 1, 1800.
About five years later, it was open to the public
on certain days. This place is important because
the president lives in it and he does all of his
work there too. This is a place Id like to visit
because the White House has a lot of interesting
rooms like the Presidents Office, the room where
people have meetings, and the presidents
bedroom. The White House is open to the public,
free of charge. Have you ever been to The White
    House?

Vietnam Vets Memorial
  • This memorial is open daily but it is
closed on Dec. 25th. This memorial opened to
visitors on November 13, 1982.This memorial does
not cost anything to see it because it is in a
park which is open to all visitors. This is
memorial is important because it is for the
Vietnam Vets who went to fight in the war. I
would like to visit this place because it is a
important landmark in the United States. Also,
because the people had courage to fight in the
    Vietnam War.

Arlington National Cemetery
  • Arlington National Cemetery was built in 1802.
Arlington is open 365 days a year, at 800 am.
From April 1-September 30, Arlington closes at
700 pm. The rest of the year, Arlington is open
until 500pm.To get into Arlington, it costs
1.25 an hour for the first three hours. After
that, the fee is 2.00 per hour.
  • Arlington National Cemetery is an important
landmark because famous people such as William
Howard Taft and Major Marie Ross are buried
there. This is a place I would like to visit
because it would remind me of the brave people
who cared more about the country than their own
lives. The Tomb of the Unknowns is the grave of
an unknown soldier. After the soldier died in
World War I, the body could not be identified.
The tomb was built because no one could recognize
the soldier and he should get credit for his hard
work. I hope that someday you will have the
    opportunity to visit Arlington National
    Cemetery.

5
Supreme Court
  • The Supreme Court was made on October 13, 1932
and was finished in 1935. It is open from 900
a.m. to 430 p.m. Monday through Friday and
Federal Holidays. It may be closed because of
unforeseen factors. It seems free to tour the
historical spot. It is important because it is a
court in the capital. We would like to go to the
Supreme Court because we would like to see a
    building near the White House.

6
Thomas Jefferson Memorial

1936. The monument was finally open to visitors.
The climate of Washington D.C. is temperate. The
Thomas Jefferson memorial is free for all
visitors. The monument is important because its
dedicated to Thomas Jefferson himself. Yes, I
would like to visit the Thomas Jefferson memorial
because its important to the state. Also, I would
enjoy visiting the monument because its one of
    Washington D.C famous attractions.

September, 1988. The memorial is open daily from
8 in the morning to midnight. The only day it is
not open is on December 25th. It does not cost
anything to get in. It is in remembrance of those
who fought in the Korean War.We both would love
to visit this memorial because it sounds very
important. The Korean War Memorial is an area
full of statues of people who fought in the
    Korean war.

started in 1793 and ended in 1829. A Visitor
Center is being built with many exhibits and
displays for your enjoyment. The cost will be
known when the center is complete. This place is
important because it is responsible for the
maintenance, operation, and development of The
United States Capital Complex. I would like to
visit this place because it seems that this place
is very important to Washington D.C. This
building looks like it was wonderfully crafted.
