    learning and create a real skills escalator .
  • Need to change the service to meet changing
    demands including contributing to a healthy
    economy

A success story the first six months
  • Launch of East of England
  • Sector Skills Agreement - 2nd November 2007
  • 1.4m invested by Train to Gain NHS East of
    England to March 2008 against strategic workforce
    plans.
  • 1200 staff trained
  • 32 /42 Trusts have signed the Skills Pledge
  • 20m committed (2008-10) longer term commitment
  • Linkages with new ESF /Apprenticeships /Skills
    for Life/Trades Unions /JCP etc
  • Over 30 regional agencies pledged to work
    together to give support in a joined up way
