Start
  • In order to be a tech savvy
  • teacher, you will need to
  • recognize familiar icons,
  • and understand storage devices.

Task
  • Your task is to create your own resource of
    icons, ports, and storage devices. 
  • You will use a method of note taking suggested by
    Dan Mulligan.
  •   Draw a line down the middle of a page.  On
    the right side of the page, you will list
    important information about each item.  On the
    left side of the page, you will draw your version
    of each item.

Process
  • With your partner, complete the following
    activities. Make sure each of you create your
    own resource.
  • On a piece of paper, draw a line down the middle.
    On the left of the line, you will draw a picture
    of the icon, port, or device. On the right of
    the line, you will write important words that
    will help you identify the icon, port, or device.
  • Look on your computer or go to 
    http//www.guidebookgallery.org/icons and find
    the following icons Word, Excel, PowerPoint, IE,
    Recycle Bin, Groupwise, Qwizdom, QuickTime, Smart
    Board, Search. Enter each one on the note taking
    page you are creating as a resource.
  • Go to http//www.jegsworks.com/Lessons/lesson6/les
    son6-1.htm and find the following storage devices
    and enter them on the note taking page you are
    creating as a resource.I. Magnetic Disks 3.5
    floppy (capacity?) Hard Disk (capacity ?)II.
    Optical Disks CD-Rom, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-ROM,
    DVD-R, DVDR, DVD-RW, DVDRW, DVDRAMIII. Other
    Devices Flash Memory, USB Drive

    Qwizdom acitivity later today.
