Original Problems

• Space Utilization
• Over flow of staged goods and finding place to
  put them
• Initial staging area 770sq ft
• Stage 2 area 880sq ft
• Stage 3 area 880sq ft
• Current staging area 2530sq ft
• Flow inconsistency
• Amount of time to load and unload trucks
• Loading and unloading were done manually
• 4 hours to unload and 2 hours to load trucks
• 8 hours a day / 4 hours to unload each truck x 4
  doors roughly 8 trucks a day
• Each 20X8X8 truck holds about 26 pallets (1
  pallet is 4X3X4)
• 8 trucks a day X 26 pallets 208 total pallets a
  day
• By the 5th truck, initial staging area has
  reached capacity

• 100 of the time, unloading stage was over filled
  w/inventory
• The over filled inventory is then moved to
  staging area 2 or 3
• From staging areas 2 and 3, the products were
  then stored in the back room then pulled and
  built, then stored in finished goods for shipment

Recommendations

• Move staging area
• Current staging area only holds 128 pallets
  stacked 2 high
• Staging area 2 and 3 hold a total of 293pallets
  stacked 2 high
• Current capacity holds 421 pallets
• New staging area holds 592 pallets
• More workers for unloading
• This will reduce unloading time
• Move soda machine increased staging area
