Easy for students to Log-On

• Your log-on info
• User ID
• Password
• (same as online document system unless you have
  been using.)
• Student Log-on
• Same as AHS network logon student and Locker
  Combo.

Guest (aka Parent)AccessKeep them informed AND
show them how many resources the students have!

• Guests can log on as
• User ID guest
• PSWD guest
• OR
• Once you are logged into your accountsearch
  using Course Catalog-entering the teachers last
  name you are looking to find.

Changing your course settings

• Click on Control Panel
• Click on Course Design
• The Course Design Menu allows you to change your
  side panel from buttons to text and change your
  color schemes for text and background.
• Course Banner allows you to attach custom
  pictures to your course.

Tool / Content Availability

• Settings let you control the first screen users
  see.
• Sometimes you may want to add content or
  inactivate unused tools in your course.
• Go to Manage Tools
• This is where you determine what access guests
  have to your course.

Help Outside the Classroom

• Post links to tutorial or informational websites
• Post tutoring calendars
• Copies of worksheets (electronic or scanned!)

• Many of the new textbooks have online
  versions.no more excuses of didnt have my
  homework or bookBlackboard.com takes them away!

Group Pages Students can access files
ANYWHERE/ANYTIME (unlike their beagle space)
whether the rest of their group is present or
not!

• Students can access from home, ISS, or anywhere
  they have internet access.
• No more excuses they have the file on their
  server spaceso I cant work on it today
• Final documents can be sent to teacher
  electronically.and time/date stamped! Paperless
  with a trail!

• To create Groups go to Manage Groups in the
  Control Panel. Course Statistics lets you
  track who has been utilizing the course, how
  often and data on when it is accessed.

Message Boards

• Create a forum where students can post and answer
  questions for each other or you! Really helpful
  for homework or test review!
• Add forums

Virtual Classroom/Chats

• Use in the classroom/lab or for extra help
  sessions from the comfort of home!
  (Collaboration)
• Use the Virtual Class format (YOU MUST HAVE JAVA
  Plug-In to run and unblock pop-ups)
• or a Chat forum.
• Use it for after school review sessions!
