as a Professional Forester in Canada.
BSc IN FOREST ENGINEERING
REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL FORESTER OPTION
As an RPF, you can decide when, where, and how
the forest should be harvested and replanted in
ways that sustain its resources and protect
wildlife.
The RPF option to your program will give you
advanced training in
? Forest Watershed Fire Management
? Communities Ecosystems
? Management of Insects Fungi
? Forest Vegetation Plant Physiology
This route gives you double accreditation as a
Forest Engineer and an RPF, bridging the gap
between the two professions

ESTIMATED ANNUAL BUDGET
This estimated student budget includes a summer
employment income of 17,000.
Based on a sample of earnings by recent senior
students.
Summer incomes vary depending upon the type of
job, productivity, and whether the employer
covers travel living costs.
Summer job incomes are generally lower in the
first year of study and tend to increase in
subsequent years due to increased knowledge and
skill.
Graduating debt free depends on you. Financial
Services counselors can help.

UNB FOREST ENGINEERING WHAT OUR ALUMNI ARE
DOING
UNB forest engineering graduates are employed all
across Canada by industries, governments,
consulting firms and research agencies.
LEADERS IN INDUSTRY AND RESEARCH
WHAT SOME ARE DOING NOW click here
They play essential roles in implementing and
designing plans to produce forested landscapes
that are sustainable and ecologically sound.
This is Charlene Johnson, a 2000 Forest
Engineering graduate. During her program,
Charlene had summer job placements in Atlantic
Canada, British Columbia and California. After
earning her Master of Applied Science in
Environmental Engineering, she worked for an
electric and water resource regulatory agency.
Today she is an elected member of the House of
Assembly of Newfoundland Labrador, and the
parliamentary secretary for the Minister of
Natural Resources.
