Physical Characteristics
  • The sulphur crested cockatoo is a white bird with
    a striking yellow crest. The crest is usually
    bent back but can be raised which shows if it is
    afraid, curious, or putting on a display.

Habitat
  • The Sulphur crested cockatoo loves eucalypt
    cavities and spaces. They fly in pairs or flocks.
    They live in forests or woodlands.

Feeding
  • The sulphur crested cockatoo feeds on seeds,
    nuts, grains, berries, fruit flowers, and small
    insects and there larvae. It also eats bulbous
    roots, and leaf buds.

  • The length of these birds is 14-20 inches tall.
    They usually weigh 350-500 grams and there normal
    life span is 40-60 years. The age at maturity is
    3-4 years. There noise level is high there is
    excellent and there scientific name is cacatua
    galerita. It has one of the biggest widespread in
    Australia.
