Overview

• My name is Cayla Donaldson
• I started school in 1993 in Dublin, CA
• I graduated from high school in 2007 in Dublin,
  CA
• I first went to college at the University of
  Hawaii in 2007 and continue to do so
• When I finish my degree, I hope to become an
  elementary and special education teacher

My definition of educational technology

• Where students can learn from different tools or
  technologies such as the internet, computers,
  special technology for special needs and use
  these technologies to prepare themselves for the
  real world by learning collaboration and
  cooperation. Different technologies will help
  them build their resources and provide an
  opportunity for themselves in the future.
  Technology helps teachers in lesson planning and
  teaching as well as helping students of all
  different learning abilities.

My vision of the classroom of the future

• A computerized Teacher Assistant with Artificial
  Intelligence
• An interactive software program that is voice
  activated and will communicate back to the
  student using words and voice commands

A challenge for teaching

• New technologies always coming out
• Teachers need to always be learning how to use
  the newest technology
• Students with disabilities might find certain
  technology too difficult for their level
• For the school to have the money to always have
  the latest technology
