Facelift - Normal Postoperative Signs and
Symptoms Asymmetry and Numbness
The healing is frequently different on the two
sides of the face, causing differences between
the two sides, temporarily exaggerating the
normal level of facial asymmetry.

Tightness or numbness of the cheeks, face, and
neck Bruising and swelling beneath the eyes. A
pale, swollen complexion These are normal
experiences as the skin, tissues, and sensory
nerves heal. Pain medication will help you cope
with any discomfort. Consistent sharp pain should
be reported to the office of your board certified
plastic surgeon immediately.

Facelift Conditions to Report
While extremely rare, please report the following
to your board certified plastic surgeon if they
Occur Excessive bleeding or fluid seeping
through the incisions. A severely misshapen
appearance or excessive swelling or bruising that
is localized to one region.

A high fever (over 101 degrees), severe nausea,
and vomiting. Slight rise temperature after
surgery is common. Any pain that cannot be
controlled by your pain medication. Bright
red skin that is hot to the touch.
