  • Born in 1961 in Pangasinan, Philippines. Lives
    and works in Quezon City.

    collaboration with young girls who had suffered
    sexual abuse, titled "Soft Dreams and Bed
    Stories"

  • Quinto's exhibit at Yokohama 2005 will also
    feature soft sculpture as part of this ongoing
    series. By incorporating symbols of family life
    into the exhibition

    inextricably linked to creative and artistic

    culture - and that it is when these are fused
    that social and political issues can be addressed
    and gender policies promoted.

  • Arsenio Capili (28 Oct 1914-1945) was named as
    one of the Thirteen Moderns by Victorino
    Edades who was pleased by his works with bold
    lines, simplified figures and used palette
    emphasizing on tonal contrast. Those works were
    influenced by Carlos V. Franciso and Galo B.
    Ocampo.

  • Anita Magsaysay-Ho (Manila, 25 May 1914- ) is
    known for her paintings that depict figurative
    abstracts of women at everyday tasks. Her nudes
    in charcoal are also bestsellers.

  • She studied painting in the U.P. School of Fine
    Arts under such prominent artist-teachers
    as Fabian dela Rosa, Fernando Amorsolo and Irineo
    Miranda. She graduated in 1933 then went to the
    U.S. to continue her studies at the Art Students
    League in New York and at the Cranbrook Academy
    of Arts in Michigan.

  • She was identified with the emerging Modernists,
    the only woman among the 13 new young talents who
    challenged the conservative school in the 1950s.
    In 1958, she was named as one of the 6
    Outstanding Filipino painters, along with Vicente
    Manansala, Arturo Luz, Hernando Ocampo, Carlos
    "Botong" Francisco, and Fernando Zobel, in Manila
    Chronicle s Sunday magazine This Week by 8
    prominent art figures.
